Alone
When she went home,
I was all alone.
Sometimes I cry,
“I want to go, so I won’t be alone.”
Sometimes I yell,
“I thought I would go first,
I am alone in this big empty home!”
Sometimes I try to stay busy,
So I won’t feel alone.
When I think of her,
I can hear you say,
(“Nothing can separate you from my love.”)
After the tears, I can hear
A voice from inside,
(“I am your refuge and strength I won’t leave you.”)
When I stop yelling,
My thoughts stay still,
(The Comforter is what I feel.)
And when I am not busy everything is quiet,
I hear the knock on my hearts door;
(“Oh, let me come in, I am your friend.”)
“If you hear my voice, open the door and I will come in.” Revelations 3:20
I wrote this for my friend Mike Ryder.
In loving memory of his wife Ryder.
